About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

Hi,

I have been living and teaching in Hunan Province, China since September 2009. Therefore, I currently have a temporary residence permit. My contract with my current school ends at the end of June, and my temporary residence permit expires 14th July 2010. However, I have been offered a short term job for two weeks in Chengdu, Sichuan from 16th July 2010. Do I need to go through some procedures of extending my residence permit? Can an individual stay in China for a certain amount of time after their residence permit expires (i.e. for travelling)?

Look forward to hearing your replies.

I think you have to apply for extension of your residence permit in case of any unnecessary troubles when leaving China.
