About:Chinese Embassy in Spain

Im currently living in Gran Canaria and have spanish residency. To apply for a visa to travel to China do I need to go to the embassy in Madrid or is there somewhere i can go to in the Canaries?

Besides the China Embassy in Madrid, there is also a Consulate-General of China in Barcelona.
