I am going to Shanghai next month. Currently I am a Hong Kong and an Australian citazen, which means I have a Permit/Card that i use to cross the border in Shenzhen, which border of Hong Kong and Gunagdong province. Do you mean you hold an Exit & Enter Permit of Mainland China for Hong Kong citizens (Return Home Card)? if you have the return home card, you can enter Shanghai without China visa, otherwise, please obtain a China visa
