There is a noodle bar called Laodifang, 233, South Xiangyang Road.You can also go to restaurants with a letter "面" on its sign.

Xin Tian Di (New Heaven & Earth) plaza has a restaurant called Crystal Jade in its mall on the second floor. They have fabulous Shanghai style dim sum and noodles. They speak English too and accept foreign credit cards. :)

Next to Crystal Jade is Ding Tai Fung, known for its internationally famous Shanghai dumplings.. I don't know how you come to think that Thailand has the same dumplings.. anyway, give that place a try if you got extra Yuans.
