About:

Hi, my husband and I are thinking of taking a train from Shanghai to Lhasa in May this year and would like to know whether we can stop along the way visiting other cities, whether we have to have a special train tickets for it or can we use the same ticket. Also we are trying to book soft sleeping berth on this journey, when we have a stop over and get on the next train to Lhasa, are we guarantee the soft sleeping berth along the way.

There are many cities you can drop off on the way from Shanghai to Lhasa, such as Nanjing, Xian, Lanzhou. If you will stop at some place halfway, you should get another trains ticket to go on. If you have a stop over, book the soft train ticket in advance for both parts of the journey.
