About:Banyannur / Bayannaoer Travel

Sir,
I would know if there are buses ti Ejin Qi (Khara Koto, 黑城 Hēichng)from Bayannur, and how long takes the trip.
Any special permit is required for foreigners?

You can take bus from Bayannur (Linhe) to Dalaihubu Town, Ejin Qi. Then it is about 10km from Heicheng. It takes about 12 hours from Linhe to Ejin. Foreigner are forbidden to go to ejin from Jiuquan. It is possible to go from Bayannur. It seems border permit is not necessary now. Take your ID card, visa and passport, whatever. There is the possibilty for foreigner visitors to be dissuaded while going to Ejin. Mostly, it is fine.

Hi,

Is this still the case that you would not need a permit from Bayannur to go to Ejin (Heicheng)? Do you know any good hotels around Ejin/Heicheng?

Hi Richard,
I went to Ejin Qi by bus two years ago, and no permit was needed.
Opposite the bus station there is a new hotel: as I arrived there after 7 hours of bus, I immediately checked-in and so I don't know if there are other hotels in the city, but that one is fully satisfactory.
Bargain hard for taxi to Kharakoto: it is30 km away from Ejin Qi by an easy paved new road....
