About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

My wife is from Shenyang, China. Due to elderly family issues back home, she has it in her mind that she will go back to China to deal with her family. Her employer wants her back as well. She has it in her mind to buy a new apartment for us. In three years I can retire and she wants me to move to China. She thinks I can go to work in China and live with her in the new apartment. She is telling me that I can teach English for a technology university located in Shenyang. She has contacts there on the administrative staff that she is already talking to about me. However, I do not see how this can be accomplished in the manner she is thinking. I need to be able to travel back and forth between the U.S. and China as I have my own family issues. ADo you have any way to confirm what she is thinking is possible?

Mr.Den, if you will work in the technology university in Shenyang, you can apply for a work visa to China, then apply for a residence permit within 30 days after entry, you will get a residence permit, which looks like a resident visa stamped on your passport, you can enter and exit Mainland China for many times during its validity.
