About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

Dear Sir:

We have a scheduled Free and Easy Group tour on April 30 to May 3, 2010, Multi destination flight from Manila-Macau; Hongkong-Manila. Shenzhen is also included in our itinerary tour. May I inquire of the following:

1.Does China allow Philippine holder passport to get visa or accept to your border with less than the valid six (6) months requirement of passport expiration period;

2.Accept Philippine passport that is not yet machine-readable; and

3.Allow Philippine green passport holder that will expire on Oct. 2, 2010 with U.S. Visa(immigrant green card holder) that will expire on 2014;

Due to time constraint to apply for the renewal of passport, and taking into account the unavailability of slot for the month of April in DFA E-Appointment, Would it be possible to request for a certificate of temporary waiver for the 6 month validity of passport, instead?.

Also, May I know if we need to get Shenzhen visa in China embassy in the Phil. or apply when we are already in Hongkong.

Anticipating for your prompt reply on the matter.

Thank you.

Ms.PO_LEEN1127,
when you apply for China visa, your passport should have at least 6 months validity, now, your green passport will expire on Oct 2, 2010, you have to obtain a China visa before April 2, 2010. The visa office or the immigration officer at the border accept the non-machine readable Green Passport.

You need a visa to visit Shenzhen, please apply for the visa in Philippines, you can't get the visa in Hong Kong.
