About:China Student Visa

Hello,
I'm going to study in China for one year.
Can I get my X Visa if I only have a one-way plane-ticket? This is because I am unsure if I will extend my study or not.
Do I need to book a return flight?

As far as i know, no flight tickets are required for applying for a China student visa.
