About:Chinese Consulates in India

I am planning to visit a research institute in Kunming, china as part of a program sponsored by the Govt. of India. The host institute in china has accepted to host me. I am from a north eastern Indian state. Please inform me to which Chinese consulate in India should I apply for my visa and in which category

Mr.BoB, if you come from the State of Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Orissa, West Bengal, you should go to Consulate-General of China in Kolkata to apply for China Business visa, if you come from Maharashtra State, Karnataka State, you should go to the Chinese Visa Application Service Center in Mumbai to apply for Business visa, if you come from other states in India, you should go to the Chinese Visa Application Service Center in New Delhi to apply for Business visa.
