i wish to go to china as a tourist.

Question

I wish to go to china as a tourist. besides Dunhuang and Xian, I wish to go to Tibet by train from Xian. How and where from will I get Tibet travel permit? From Delhi to Xian, then to amd fro Dunhuang, from Xian to Tibet by train and fly back to Delhi from Lhasa.Please advise.

Indians planning to visit Tibet should contact the Tourism Administration of the Tibet Autonomous Region (Tel: 0086-891-6834313; Fax: 0086-891-6834632) and provide visa notification issued by it.   Ms. shashi, the most convenient method is to obtain a L visa in India without declaring your planned trip to Tibet, when you arrive in Xian, contact a travel agency which can get the Tibet entry permit for you, then you can go to Tibet.
