How far is Shanghai to Gansu. Perhaps it  is too far and too expensive?  How would I go there?

Which city of Gansu are you going to? Lanzhou, the capital city of Gansu?

Anyway, it is suggested that you take a flight to get there since the long distance of over 2,000km. If you take a train, such as to Lanzhou, the fastest one will take you about 21 hours on the way.
