Im flying into Tianjin then transferring to Beijing for 3 days. I want to go to Xian after that. Is it more convenient to fly out of Beijing? how much would a taxi be from forbidden city area to airport and how easy would one be to get at approx 5.30am. how long should a taxi take to get to airport at that time of the day.

It is easy to take taxi at that time since it is not the peak period. It takes about 40 mines from the Forbidden City area to the airport. And the cost is around CNY120 one way.
