THATS A LIE BECAUSE THE SILK ROAD ENDED WHEN THEY FOUND AN EASIER WAY TO GET THERE BY SAILING AROUD THE TIP OF AFRICA

Well as far as my history books went the sailing route took over as it was quicker and less dangerous to link the two ends. The trading in the middle continued and even now there is trade along sections of both the northern and southern routes. Hence the large cities on this route?
