About:Guangzhou Travel Guide

Hi Friends,

Would anyone be so kind to tell me how to get to CHENGDU from GUANGZHOU via TRAIN.

I'm kind of confused as to what station should I go - Guangzhou, Guangzhou East, or Guangzhou West. Do I need to book in advance? Another thing, from Baiyun International Airport how can I go that station.

Xiexie!

Both Guangzhou and Guangzhou East Railway have trains to chengdu. Yes you need to book in advance. baiyun Airport has airport bus to those two railway station. Line 1 to Guangzhou Railway Station and Line 6C to Citic Plaza, near to the East Railway Station.

Xiexie Mr. Jerry!

I'll be going to Guangzhou on Feb. 15th and I really appreciate your help. I have a follow-up question, how can I book a ticket in advance considering that I'm back here in the Philippines (I was in China 3 weeks ago)? I'm planning to leave Guangzhou for Chengdu on Feb. 16th. How many days I should book in advance? Can you recommend any means?

I'm planning to go from Guangzhou to either Chengdu or Beijing to visit my friends. If ever, I go to Beijing can I still access the trains in both stations? And do I have to book a ticket in advance as well?

Your usual quick reply would be highly appreciated. I know how helpful your website is and I would be recommending this site not only to my fellow Filipino travelers but as well to my foreigner friends back there in the U.S.

Xiexie, Mr. Jerry. Thanks for the prompt reply. Yeah, you're right if in case, I can't get a chance to catch a train by the time I arrive in Guangzhou, I better ride a plane going to either Chengdu or Beijing. I suppose it wouldn't be really fully booked as opposed to trains.

I really like your site. I wish China Travel Guide a prosperous new year :) P.S. I hope your site will also include other East and Southeast Asian countries. Tourist flow is huge in this side of the world. Just an unsolicited idea :)

Hi, Johnestallo. My pleasure. Train ticket is available to book usually 10 days in advance. Need to book in advance for both Chengdu and Beijing. Train ticket is hard to buy for it is during the Spring Festival. You can not book online or by telephone. If you can't get one at the railway station when you arrive in Guangzhou, you can consider going by air. Cheaper to buy ticket earlier.
