About:Shenzhen Travel

I have purchased tickets for my 9 year old daughter and me to go to Hongkong this May.
We would like to explore Shenzhen and some popular attractions in China. Can anyone recommend where we can stay in Shenzhen? I want to go shopping for cheap gadgets for cellphones and computers in Shenzhen, or is it cheaper elsewhere? How far is the Great Wall of China? Is the visa for Philippine citizens valid for Shenzhen and all over China?

Yes, if you already have Chinese visa, you can get to all over China, except Macau, Hong kOng and Tibet. The Great Wall in Beijing is somewhat distant from Shenzhen, over 2000km from Shenzhen to Beijing. Suggest you stay at Huaqiang Road, Futian District. Huangqiangbei is the best place to buy those electronics things.

Hi Kababayan, I was in China a couple of weeks ago and we'll be going back there again a few weeks from now. For Filipinos like you and me, we can stay visa-free in Hong Kong for 14 days and in Macau for 30 days. If you want to go to Shenzhen which is already part of Mainland China you need to apply for a China Visa from the Chinese Embassy (Philippine Branch). I hope this helps :)
