You should first take express bus (Fare: CNY157, Estimated journey time: 12 hours) to Lijiang from Kunming as the mountain is location in Lijiang. After you reach Lijiang, take public bus line 7 at Red Sun Square (Hongtaiyang Guangchang) and you can reach this site. The estimated journey time is around 40 minutes.

it depends on when you will be Lijiang. but it's better to arrange before you arrive, it will be more convenient for you! usually we also had some children whose age around your children to hike there, sometimes do horse riding.

If you go visit Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, also depends which parts of snow mountain you do prefore to visit(Yak Meadow? or Yunshan Meadow?), if you will not to these places, you also can go horse riding in another side of snow mountain. I don't think you can ski there.
