About:Beijing National Stadium

The Beijing National Stadium, or Bird's Nest, will see the first ice and snow festival from Dec.12 to Feb.20 in 2010. During this period, the ground in the main field and the warm-up field will be covered with 40cm thick artificial snow. The Bird's Nest will become the largest skiing paradise in Beijing.

At present, the 5,000 chairs in the platform of the southern main field have been dismantled. The workers are laying a ski run measuring 80 meters long, 80 meters wide and has a slope of 6 degrees. Visitors will enter the ski resort from here by sitting on snow tubes.

The snow festival open from 09:00 to 18:00 on the weekdays. During the weekends and holidays, the business hour will be extended to 21:30. There are two kinds of tickets. The tickets including the entrance fee of the Bird's Nest are charged at CNY 120 on weekdays and CNY 180 on holidays, and the tickets excluding the entrance fee of the Bird's Nest cost CNY 80 on weekdays and CNY 140 on holidays.

The resort must be crowded during weekends. You can get unlimited acess to the skiing but you have to prepare gear equipments or rent from the service center by yourself.
