About:Chinese Embassy in U.K.

How could I do for I have just been told here in Lisbon that I cannot get another Chinese Visa.

Please help. I have just been told here in Lisbon that I cannot get another Chinese Visa here due to the fact that I am British and not resident in Lisbon, furthermore I do not have a clean page in my passport, so I now need a new passport - despite the fact that this one is still valid for 5 years !

Now my plan is to spend one day in London on the way to Hong Kong, to get another passport and another in Hong Kong to get a visa - because I need to visit various contacts in Shenzhen and possibly Guangzhou.

Assuming I arive with a new passport on 15th of December, can I leave Hong Kong airport and go straight into Shenzhen without a visa ?

If I can, could I get a visa in Shenzhen to move on to Guangzhou - if I discover I need to go there ?

If I cannot go to Shenzhen the moment I arrive at Hong Kong, what is the fastest way to get a same day visa in Hong Kong (probably a double entry) ? And how much would it cost etc ?

Thanking you so much in advance.

Peter

First, I want to ask can you get a new passport within one day, I think it is difficult.

As I know, aliens can apply for a special tourist visa with 5 days stay in Shenzhen at the entry ports of Shenzhen, but even though you can get a visa-o-arrival to Shenzhen, but you can't get a visa to Guangzhou, therefore, the best solution is that you apply for a single/double entry Chinese visa in Hong Kong, but I'm not sure you can get it in Hong Kong, recently, the Chinese visa policy becomes very strict. If you get the Chinese visa, you won't have problems to Shenzhen or Guangzhou.

When you are overseas and need a new visa you can normally get them from your own country's consulates. So this could have been done some weeks ago.

Passports are valid for a time period or until they fill up, whichever comes first, ( my previous one lasted only 4 years!).

Getting a visa should not be a probklem even though the rules are tighter than they used to be.
