About:Chinese Embassy in Indonesia

Hello,
we plan to visit hongkong, Shenzhen and Macau on December on group tour.
Since we have 1 free day on Shenzhen, we are planning to visit our relative
at guangzhou and will be back to Shenzhen to join the group on the same day. Our visa
will be applied on group and only have a list hold by the tour leader. Since we will travel apart from
the group on the journey to guangzhou and back to Shenzhen via train, do we need additional
visa? I am quite confused because some travel agent say we need to apply for additional visa while
my travel agent say no need to apply for additinal visa. Thanks for the answer.

yes, in principal, you need additional visa because you travel apart from the tour group. However, you go to Guangzhou and Shenzhen by train, so maybe nobody check your visa, however, once you are found, you will face problems.
