Hi,I will travel to Beijing in late 2009. Can anyone tell me if the area around Chang An Grand Hotel is near the party scene? If not, how far would we have to travel? Thanks in advance!

Shichahai and Sanlitun would be a good choice. It would be a little bit too far. You could take a taxi. Sanlitun is nearer than Shichahai. But the environment is not that good. It's around 10km from the hotel to the party street. The time? It's hard to say. The traffic in Beijing is not that good so you might have to take a little bit longer,esp at Friday night. You could also take buses. But I'm afraid it would be too complicated...
