About:

Hi, I'm going to travel to China next week, and I only have 7 days. My plan is going to Shanghai - Xian - and Beijing, from Beijing I will fly back to Jakarta. Is it possible for me to travel by train from Shanghai to Xian and from Xian to Beijing? Can I buy the tickets directly at the train station in Shanghai for both destinations (shang-xian, xian-beijing). Thank you in advance.

Usually, it is not suggested that you take a train from Shanghai to Xian. The train running time is not very good arranged. So, please take a flight which is faster and more comfortable. Currently, the airfare is also reasonable.

From Xian to Beijing, please take the train 'Z', all of which are night trains. So, you could save more time for visiting. Usually, you'd better purchase a soft-sleeper ticket (CNY400) 3 days in advance at least. Very difficult to purchase the ticket on the spot. Other, please take a flight, the ticket of which is about CNY500 currently.
