About:Embassy & Consulates of Italy in China

hi,
am a student in china.u have been invited to a three month mutual education visit to one university in Italy, effective from January 2010.i have been send the invitation letter indicating the allowance plus the insurance cover.i am being asked by my host university to find out issues on taxation on my allowance in a tax office in china.
second, i renewed my passport and hence my residence permit was given effective from September 2009.please advice on if i can go, what i might be lacking and so on

I think you can go, but you may have to apply for an Italian visa from the Italy Embassy in China.
