Hi, i was planning to go to Shenzhen from Hongkong. do i need a visa? How can i process it?

Yes, you need. You can apply for the visa through travel agency in Hong Kong, you can get it in one day. Or apply by your self at HK Immigration Administration. Visa on arrival is also available at the border of Huanggang and Luohu.
