About:Beijing Weather

I am planning to visit Beijing on 5th Dec-11 Dec 2009. How about the winter? Is that safe for me to climb Great Wall? And I also want to bring my mother (50 years old), is that ok?

Beijing will be in cold winter then. So, please wear your warm clothes (sweater, overcoat or downjacket), scarf and glove. But it is not the coldest time, so you could enjoy some sunshine at daytime all the same. It will be ok for your mother visiting the Great Wall unless she is not in good health currently. Please wear skidproof shoes for climbing up the Great Wall. It is also a good idea to pocket several chocalate or sugar when you traveling outside in winter.

And I am thinking of what shoes to get, skid proof shoe? is it suitable for normal shopping and sightseeing or only for climbing the greatwall? Wish somebody can help me on preparation. Thanks.
