About:Phoenix Ancient Town

I will be visiting Beijing around the beginning of April 2010. What kind of air clarity can I expect around Tiananmen Square? I am hoping to get overall shots of Tiananmen Tower.

Also, can I get close enough to the Heroes Monumant to shoot close up images of the historic carvings?

Finally, is photography permitted in the Military Museum?

I was just there October 11-15, 2009. The day we arrived the air was terrible. I would call it hazy as you couldn't see the sun and didn't dare take a deep breath while you were outside. THe 2nd-5th days a breeze picked up and the skies were crystal clear. There was still an interesting odor in the air but nothing that would prevent you from taking in a deep breath.

I can't answer your second 2 questions. If you're a white man/woman be prepared to be started at and to also have Chinese coming up to you and asking to take their photo with you!
