About:Shanghai Pudong Airport

Hello,
I will be flying on Air China # 158 from Tokyo Narita (NRT) to Shanghai PuDong (PVG)(arrival 11.15am) (Is it T2?) I will have then to take China Eastern Airlines # 541 from Pudong (T1? am I right?) to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi leaving at 1.50pm, so I have around 2.35h to do the transfer.
Can you confirm the 2 flights land and depart from different terminals? Is time enough? Do I need a transit visa/multientry visa? Do I need to get out of the terminal to transfer flight or there is another way?
On my return back to Tokyo I will fly again China Eastern from BKK to PVG and then Air china from PVG to NRT (here I have 2.55h to do the transfer)
Many thanks!

Yes, the terminals are correct, one in T2 and one in T1. You do not need a transit visa at all. The time for transfer is enough. There are free bus outside T2 heading for T1, but I think it is more safe to go by walk. There are passage between the two buildings and walk about 10 minutes. The free shuttle bus runs every 10 minutes. You may have to wait. According to my calculation, it will need 2.20h to make the transfer. So, you still need to control your time well. Good Luck~

Thanks James, is the health check for the flu taking a lot of time? I thought that carrying my luggage on hand, it would have taken me not more than 20minutes to get out of the immigration and move towards the other terminal. So considering I have to be at the other checking at least 1hr before the flight, I would have had around 50m to 1hr as time available to transfer terminal. Is that not enough? What happens if I lose the connecting flight and I cannot leave Shanghai soon on a different flight? I will be left without visa in Shanghai. I am not that worried for the return flight, but I really cannot lose the connecting flight on my departure.
Thanks,
Francesco

The check will not last too long (the flight comes from Japan), if there is no fever cases found in the plane. They will give you an health paper to fulfill. Generally you can get out immigration in 1 or 1.5 hours. You should get ready for next flight and finish check-in 45 minutes before departure. If you miss the flight, the next flight will be at 17:20. One of the flight is also operated by China Eastern Airlines. You need to be hurry and hope you can make it smothly.
