Hi! I am doing a project too! I need help on just one thing. Why does the Huang He river called "The Yellow River?" I thought it was because of the great soil and silt,but I don't want to get it wrong and be embarresed in front of the whole class. Please help me soon!

"Huang He" comes from chinese pronounciation.and "The yellow river" translated chinese character "黄河".in chinese "黄" pronounce "huang" ,means yellow,"河" pronounce "he" ,means river.so we get The Yellow River.
yellow is the water's colour.The Yellow River across Loess Plateall carries plenty loess,this loess turn the water's colour.
