About:Beijing Attractions

If you had a choice to go to either Shanghai or Bejiing which would you choose? We are going to be limited in time and have to choose one over the other and we are getting mixed reviews. Everyone is telling us its very hard to breathe in Bejiing, is this true? Please advise. Our week in China is going to consist of Bejiing and Hong Kong or Shanghai and Hong Kong, which ever is more appealing. Which would you choose and if I may ask why?

Hi,Mrs.wendy.
Beijing is the cultural center of China while Shanghai is the financial center. Many overseas love Beijing and have lived in Beijing for years. I will choose Beijing as Beijing saw the growth of a new China. You will have a great experience of ancient China and modern China in Beijing. However, if you don't care that much about the history and culture, or just go for fun, you can go to Shanghai. In saying that, i don't mean Shanghai is not rich in culture and history, just compared with Beijing.
All in all, Beijing and Shanghai are all top mainland cities in China. Either of them is worth your visit. Just make your own decision. Wish you a nice trip:)

I agree with Melissa's good summary. One more point, Hong Kong and Shanghai are kind of similar and Beijing is different than both. I'd take Hong Kong, Xian, Beijing.
