I applied for my visa on 25th Sept and suppose to collect on 30th sept. However i reach the office only at noon and the guard refuse to let me in. I was not aware the office would be closed from 1st Oct till 8th oct , if not i would have had insisted to go in and collect my visa. I went again on 2nd October and the guard informed me of the holiday. As i was suppose to travel on 8th October, I had to change my ticket to 10th October and pay a penalty. I feel the Chinese consular should have place bigger notices on their main doors, inside their offices as well as on this website to inform people of their closure period. As it is many would have to change their travel plans or forfeit their travel tickets becos of this ommission on their part.
