About:China Train

Hi. We are looking to travel to China in November 2009 and hope to travel by train from Beijing to Zibo, then from Zibo to Chengdu, then from Chengdu to Shenzhen. I see there are D type trains to Zibo, but appear to be only the K type trains to Chengdu and Shenzhen - please advise if the K type have the hard/soft sleepers described available? What would be the cost of the fares for this travel please. Thanks

Mike, K trains usually have both hard and soft berths.
The prices are as follows:

D train Beijing South to Zibo first class about NZ$47 and second class NZ$38.
Hard berth from Zibo to Chengdu is about NZ$92 and the soft is about NZ$147.
Hard berth from Chengdu to Shenzhen is about NZ$92 and the soft is about NZ$147.
The hard berth is comfortable but the soft is more spacious and peaceful.
