About:Chinese Embassy in Malaysia

Hello

I'm planning to join a tour to Beijing & Tianjin in December, departing from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I am an Australian citizen, so I hold an Australian passport. I won't be arriving in Malaysia until about a week before the Beijing tour departs from Malaysia. I am wondering, in relation to obtaining a visa to enter China for the tour, is it recommended that upon arriving in Kuala Lumpur I should straight away go to my travel agent there who is organising the tour (who will then apply for the visa at the Chinese Embassy)? How long will it take to process the visa? Is it possible to get a visa processed in 1 working day?

OR is it possible for me to obtain a Chinese tourist visa in Brisbane, Australia (where I live and where I am at the moment), so that I will already have a valid visa in my passport ready to go on my tour? In this case, what is required by the Chinese Consulate if I apply in Brisbane, Australia? Do they need a full itinerary of the tour etc?

I appreciate your help.

You can get the visa at either in Brisbane or in Kuala Lumpur, but a golden rule is that" it is easier to apply for a China visa in your home country than in a third country. Additional documents may be required if you apply for a Chinese visa in a third country (you may required to hold Malaysian entry visa or residence permit). It is safer to hold a China visa in hand before your departure. Normally, the processing time of China visa is four working days. There is expedited visa serive, and you have to pay extra fee.
To get your visa approved in Brisbane, you are supposed to submit these documents:
1. An original passport, which must have at least six month remaining validity before expiration and at least one blank visa page
2. A duly signed application form with a passport-style photo affixed
3. Your hotel booking evidence and return flight tickets proof
