Thank you for your help. Since the bus takes one hr to reach Xidan, would the airport train be more convenient to reach downtown ??

Yes, it is faster to take airport express train, but you need make transfers to Xidan. The airport express train can only take you to Dongzhimen (about 20 minutes). You should change to Subway Line 2 at Dongzhimen and get off at Jianguomen to take another train, Line 1 to Xidan.
