We were in Chengdu about two weeks ago.
We went to a local tour company in Chengdu and bought a local tour package that included airfare, hotel accomendations, tour guide and admissions to Jiuzhaigou Valley and Huloung.
We flew from Chengdu and landed in Jiuzhaigou airport, got picked up from our tour guide and was drive to Huloung where we hiked to the top. Be careful of altitude sickness. Our heads felt like it was going to explode. To prevent the pounding make sure you take lots of deep breaths to get that oxygen into your body.
After the hike to Huloung, our Tour Guide dropped us off at our hotel for a dinner, the next day we were driven to Jiuzhaigou Valley. We were also taken to a local Tibetan Village for snacks and to a private room where they signed tradtional Tibetan songs for us and taught us some key phrases. After that we went to see a Tibetan musical. We flew back to Chengdu the next day, where we stayed for another 5 days. We also got the Panda Card when we purchased our tour package, which allowed us to get into all the attractions in the Sichuan Provance for free.
The Sichuan flower peppercorn hot pot is a must have.
