About:Chinese Embassy in U.S.A.

When US Embassy asks for "Residence certificate" and for "registration card", are they referring to "Hukou" and the "National Identification Card" ?

"Residence certificate" and "registration card" are registered residence certification, similar to the National Indentification Card.
