We are flying in to Shanghai Pudong on May 3, then taking an Air China flight to Beijing. How long do you expect it will take to go through Chinese customs when we arrive in Shanghai? We need to know how much time to allow between our arrival in Shanghai and the departure of our flight to Beijing.

Generally speaking, it is better to leave 4 hours between the arrival time of your international flight and the departure time of your flight to Beijing. And please note that there are 2 airports in Shanghai, they are PVG (Pudong Airport) and SHA (Hongqiao Airport). If your two flights are not in the same airport, 2 more hours are needed for the transportation between the two airports.
