About:Chinese Embassy in U.S.A.

Hi,
I am planning to go to Manila but wish to visit Shanghai during the Chinese Holidays Oct 1 to 8th. Can I apply directly at your embassy for a visa?
Is the Chinese Embassy in Manila closed during the Holidays? If so, what days are you closed?

You can apply for the Chian visa from the Chinese Embassy in Manila. However, I hear that applicants are not allowed to get the Chian visa in a third country now because of the coming 60th anniversary of China, so I advise you confirm this with the China embassy in Manila directly.
The embassy will be closed during the China National Day Holidays from Oct 01 to oct 08, 2009.
