My female friend and I traveled from KL to Beijing via Tianjin last Aug 10-14, 2009. I took a shuttle bus from Tianjin Binhai Airport to Tianjin Train Station. Then I took the train only 30' to Beijing. But on the way return from Beijing to Tianjin, I got the UNFORGETABLE experience. After unboarded from the train in Tianjin Train Station, I asked to station officer where to get the shuttle bus to Tianjin International Binhai Airport. The officer said the bus number 621 which could be taken on the bus terminal in Tianjin Station Area. When I entered to the bus, I questioned to passangers but none (including the driver)understood an English, someone looked like wish to say.
With a believe that it was not far away, we joined the bus. Until almost 1 hour, I suspected the route and I questioned again to the young one who a bit understood English and with her sister handphone assistance, he suggested me to stop in one area and took/changed to another bus. It was actually on the highway road with the right and left villages area. We tried to wave our hands many times to stop any taxi or bus nor any private car for help and finally one nice young guy with his white car wished to help us to fulfil my request to drop to Binhai Airport even after several calls to his parents specially to his very kind speak english well mother arranged us to overnight in Binhai Airport area ( our flite would be the next day ).
Then, we went to Binhai Airport with taxi ordered by the old lady hotel owner.
The summary is because most of Tianjin did not know Binhai Airport, even I talked Airport in a dictionary Chinesse word.Binhai Airport availability , since when constructed...what is Binhai Airport called in Chinesse words ? Could somebody help to answer my queries above ?
I wished I could come again to Beijing to see Great Wall....thanks for the info.
