About:Chinese Embassy in U.S.A.

I carry a US passport. I went to a travel agency today and I was charged a total of 150,000 KRW for a 30-day tourist visa. I've been reading everywhere that the price for a 30-day single entry is the same as other multi-entry visas. I'm not sure, but I might come back to China within a year. When I asked the travel agent if I could get a different visa, she told me it would cost me an additional amount (220,000KRW for 1 year multi-entry. This does not fit with the descriptions I've read on various websites. Also, I'm wondering if the travel agency's service fee was too much (it exceeds 20,000 won according to this website). Should I file a complaint?

Maybe it is the rule of the travel agency. Why not apply for the visa yourself from the China emabssy or consulate near? The visa fee is the same for any kinds of visa for USA citizens.

According to your statement, the visa agency infringes the regulation of Chinese embassy in Seoul. Does the travel agency is one of the designated travel agencies? If not, you can't send a complain to the embassy.

I thought I submitted this on the China embassy in South Korea. Anyway, individuals aren't permitted to apply for their own visas at the Chinese embassy here. We have to go through approved travel agents. I went to Xanadu, which is on the approved list.

Ms.Paula, you can send e-mail (<span class="clspost">mfa.gov.cn|consulate_korea</span>) or fax (02-755-0469) to lodge a complaint (complaints by phone or face to face are not accepted). The complainant should write down clearly the real name, gender, date of birth, nationality, passport number, phone number of the applicant as well as the application date, the name of the travel agency and the details regarding the infringement. The Consular Section of the Chinese Embassy will fully investigate the case and deal seriously with the relevant travel agency.
