About:Chinese Embassy in U.S.A.

Mr. Oliver,

I am an American citizen who has been abroad traveling and working in South East Asia for the past year and a half. Currently, I am in Adelaide and will be in Perth this weekend. Will I have a problem applying at the Chinese consulate in Perth even though I am not an Australian citizen and do not have residency here? Also, is it possible to receive the visa same day? Is there any other form required besides the application form as a result of my citizenship? No answer at the consulate even though I tried repeatedly...

Thanks in advance for your assistance!
