About:Chinese Embassy in Singapore

I am Malaysian and Singapore PR holder. I am planning to visit China on 8 Feb 2010 till 22 Feb 2010 with my wife and 2 daughters (all Singapore PR).
Q1. As a Malaysian passport holder, do I need to apply visa? If yes, how much and how long it takes for the process?
Q2. We will depart from Malaysia airport but apply here, is it ok?
