About:Chinese Embassy in U.S.A.

Hello!

I am an American citizen about to head into Kazakhstan, and had planned to travel from there into China. I do not plan to travel towards Astana, and am wondering if it is possible to apply for a Chinese visa in Almaty? I will have a valid Kazakhstan visa, but no residency permit. Is this possible?

Why not apply for the China visa in USA? I'm afraid you are not able to get a China visa in Almaty, since there is no China embassy or consulate there.

Mr. Abel,
I appolgise for not being clearer. I am already out of the United States, currently in Georgia. In the next two days I head through Azerbaijan to Kazakhstan. This is why I cannot obtain my China visa in the U.S.A. I understand that the Embassy moved to Astana, but I believe there is still a consulate in Almaty. Is it possible to get the Chinese visa there? Or do I have to go to Astana?
