Both Beijing Road and Tianhe area are all fine. I recommend Lido in Beijing Road, which is close to subway station in Line 2. You can take subway to Guangzhou Railway Station to look for Liuhua Bus Station nearby. You can take bus to Dongguan south Coach Station. It has buses to Shenzhen Airport every 60 minute. You need 45 minutes or so to Dongguan and 50 minutes from Dongguan to Shenzhen. So you need at least two hour on road. You can plan your time.
