Hi, I think you could plan a 2~3 days' trip in Xi'an. You could take a night train departing from Beijing and arrive in Xi'an in the morning. Today, you could go to see the terra-cotta warriors and horses. When you come back at night, you could go to watch the Tang Dynasty Show, very excellent experience. The next day, you could visit the Bell and the City wall, have luch at the Muslim Streen at the Drum Tower. In the afternoon you could go to see the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Then, you could leave Xi'an at night or stay one more day to walk along the city's streets and do more exploration.

Yes, it is a good idea to have a hotel around the Bell Tower which is the city's center and has very covenient transportation. But, please note that the building of the city's metro may cause some problem sometimes.

maybe you can search on net ,find the thanksgiving hotel in Xi'an .you'd better find a tour guide in local travel agency.i think it will be worthwhile.about the show ,i think you should watch.'course you will know chinese cutrule better.
