Very helpful information on this site.  I'm planning a last minute trip..long story.  I will be in Beijing on August 8th, and I'm doing my best to get a hold of someone in Beijing to purchase a train ticket from there to ulanbataar for August 8th or 9th.  Once there i would like to continue my travels west to Moscow.  With your experiences, what are the chance that they both be sold out?

The train ticket can only be bought and booked though China International Travel Service. You can search their web or call 400-600-8888 to make an enquiry.
