Yes, language difference may bring you some troubles when you want to comminicate with the others. So, in order to avoid them, you should hold some Chinese notes. For example, you want to go to visit the Forbidden City, Badaling Great Wall and Beijing Olympics Village.
Forbidden City = Gu Gong = 故宫
Badaling Great Wall = Badaling Chang Cheng = 八达岭长城
Beijing Olympics Village = Ao Yun Cun = 奥运村
Honestly speaking, two days is not very enough to visit the above three sites. Only a visit to the Forbidden City may cost you more than half a day. You know, the Forbidden City is too big. It's in the downtown, behind the Tiananmen Square. Then, go to Badaling Great Wall. You should go to the Deshengmen Gate to take the Bus 919 to get to the wall. The wall is a little far from the Beijing City. You may arrange your Beijing tour like that:
First Day: Forbidden City, Olympics Village
Second Day: Badaling Great Wall
Third Day: After that, leave Beijing for Shanghai.
