About:Chinese Consulate in Melbourne

I am to travel to china / chengdu to marry my fiancee , DO I NEED A
Certificate Of Impediment To Marriage .

And can this be authenticated or approved at chinese consulate in melbourne .

Foreign Affairs melbourne say they do not do such for china but i have feeling they are wrong and that I do need to provide certificate of impediment , can you tell me if it is a requirement please .

Yes, the certificate is necessary when applying for the marriage certificate in China.
I agree with you that it should be isssued by Foreign Affairs Melboune, if they don't do this for you, you can try the Chinese embassy in Melbourne.
