About:Nanjing Nightlife

I have lived here for a few months and will be here for a few more. I go out often.
I have found 1912 to be a bit of a meat-marketas far as the clubbing goes! I'm not a fan! But the restaurants are good. Blue Sky is for an older crowd.
Castle bar is great after midnight if you like dancing, Danny's bar at the Sheraton is fun and the staff are great.
Jimmy's bar is awesome, great food and staff, with the most wicked cocktails - try a JP's smooth infection, Irish tea or Red Bomb, but don't plan on doing anything the next day!!! Jimmy's also has the euro-football as well as other sports televised. Very comfortable vibe.
Finnegan's Wake is good if you like it quiet, super friendly owner and staff with an excellent Irish Guitarist/Singer, and they make a margerita that's pretty hard to beat (they make their own sour mix - mmmmm).
And then there's always the fabulous restaurants!
part of the fun of Nanjing is finding these places and seeing for yourself - everyone has different tastes!
The next place I'm going to try is Scarlet.

Hi Alanna,
I am going to be teaching english in Nanjing for one year, I am leaving for China in two weeks, and I found your information on the nightlife very helpful! I am from LA, and I would love to know more about the nightlife scene in Nanjing. What are you doing in Nanjing? If you'd rather email, my address is gmail.com|morganmcummings I would love to talk more about Nanjing!
