Hi,
Can someone recommend any day trips just on the outskirts of Shanghai? My friend and I will be in Shanghai for 7 days and would like to venture out of the city. Thanks.

I recommend old town tours around Shanghai: such as Qibao Old Town, Zhujiajiao and Xitang.

If for a seven days trip u can try to go hangzhou and shouzhou where the water town is.

Well, the best choice I recommend will be this: get subway line 1 to the ,and get to a center named shanghai travel center .In the center, you can choice the line you wanna take .For example, if you choose the line to Wuzhen,maybe RMB100,and the bus ticket and the gate ticket will be all involved.
And the sites I recommend will be Wuzhen, Tongli, Xitang.They have a Venice Look with Chinese taste.

Thanks for the tip. Sorry, there is a missing word in your sentence. YOu wrote get subway line 1 to the... but never mentioned where to. Could you please tell me where is the Shanghai travel center?

Also, how hard will it be for me to get a train ticket for a day trip to Hangzhou or Suzhou? I heard it's tough to get ticket. Is that true?

Hi Ms. A, if you are going to the Shanghai Travel Center, please take the subway Line 1 or Line 4 and then get off Shanghai Stadium. Very easy.

As for the train ticket from Shanghai to Suzhou and Hangzhou, please take it easy. You could purchase the train ticket just before leaving, not difficult at all. Well, you'd better the ticket one day in advance during weekend and holidays.

Hi, friend, 7 days are abundant to visit outskirt of Shanghai, I suggest you to visit Song Jiang, Jia Ding & Qing Pu where you can find many tourist attraction,
