About:Chinese Embassy in Canada

Hello,
Thanks for this forum. I'll be in China during two first weeks of August, 2009. There is a rumor circulating around and I'd like to verify if it's true. All passengers from America (from Canada in my case)have to be on medical control for a week after arrival. You should provide your temperature data each day and you are not allowed to visit public places. It's a kind of quarantine because of the flu. Please advise.

can't speak for "today" but I was in China for 3 weeks - April / May - and had no such inconvenience then. I was quite impressed that the Government officials called me 2 times at my hotel to ask how I was feeling.
